Through the eyes of a kid growing up at the end of the 20th Century, if you saw someone working at a Tanker Desk, then you knew they were official. There is something about the large presence of the pedestal drawers resting upon angled feet. The enduring materials, and utilitarian design make the Tanker a desk to usher you into that next level. Extra deep drawer space allows you to remain organized, and keep the beautiful grain on the desktop visible. This desk received a fresh powder coat in an Olive Drab Green. I chose to make a desktop and matching modesty panel out of Olive Ash, which is slowly becoming my favorite wood due to its strength, durability, texture, and mesmerizing grain pattern.
